Pedestrian Close Bar Grates
Pedestrian close bar grates are made to suit a variety of applications,
but primarily where there is pedestrian access.
They provide an aesthetically pleasing look and are made standard in
a galvanised finish.
We can make these grates in either Stainless Steel (304,316) or Aluminium.
Pedestrian close bar grates have been used in walkways, backyard areas,
schools, shopping centres, parklands and in domestic driveways.
The grates have a standard gap of 9 mm between bars.
This is relevant for the grates between 100 mm and 200 mm in width.
These width grates have bars in longitudinal direction.
The grates are pedestrian and bike safe in all directions.
Close bar type grates wider than 200 mm, are made with a 13 mm gap.
These grates have load bars in transverse direction.

They can be custom made in different widths.
Pedestrian close bar grates can be supplied on their own, with frame or with a channel to suit.
Pedestrian close bar grates are also available in the angle sided self support version, Model 092.
These grates are supported by the angles on the sides of the grate, and are sometimes referred to as self support grates.
