AS3996 Compliance: Built to the Australian Standard
All grates and frames we fabricate comply with Australian Standard AS3996 for load ratings, bicycle safety and pedestrian safety. Heelguard grates additionally comply with AS1428 (wheelchair and disability access) and slip resistance exceeds AS4586:2013 P5 rating. Products approved for Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads are available within our gully grate range.
Do custom-fabricated grates take longer than standard stock?
Custom grates carry a typical lead time of one to two weeks from our Brisbane factory. Standard range items are generally available from stock. Frames can be supplied first on urgent projects, with grates to follow.
Can you fabricate replacement grates for existing frames already in the ground?
Yes. To fabricate a drop-in replacement, provide the length, width, depth and load classification of the existing frame. We manufacture to those exact dimensions in galvanised steel, stainless steel Grade 304 or 316.
Which steel grade suits outdoor Brisbane drainage conditions?
Galvanised steel suits most standard drainage applications. Grade 316 stainless is recommended for coastal, marine or chemically exposed environments. Our team can advise based on your site conditions.
